Why should I "Learn To Learn"?

  • In this book Að læra að læra - með sjálfseflingu (the book is only in Icelandic for now) you are introduced to some easy-to-learn strategies that can make your studies and homework so much easier and more fun.
  • You'll make better use of your time, and it becomes easier to turn your assignments in on time.
  • You'll enhance your memory.
  • You'll feel better about yourself because as you do well, you feel great.

Your wellness and happiness are the most important.

  • You need to prioritize your needs. What do you want?
  • It's fun to be able to hang out with friends, go to sports, dance, music, art, and more. Get your homework done first.
  • Life can get blue when there are days where just about everything goes wrong. On such days, it comes in handy to find out some new ways to help you turn sad times into happier times.

Enjoy being you - being a teen.

  • In this book you'll find lots of things that help you with your everyday life outside the classroom.
  • Write down your goals, set a timeline, make a step by step plan to reach your goals within that timeline.
  • In the chapter on Self-empowerment, you'll find a worksheet by the name of Lífshjólið / The Wheel of Life (pg. 77- 80). As you do this worksheet you'll realize the way you use your time better than before. In this same chapter you'll also learn ways to enhance your self-confidence and how to diminish your anxiety feelings.
  • You'll work on your values, your talents, your communication skills, and how to get over difficult feelings and memories.

Dear student,

This book is intended for you, and it could prove to be very useful.

Perhaps you got your book at school, or perhaps your parents got it for you to use at home.

You'll find many short worksheets in the book. I find it very important that you write the answers directly in the book.

Keep in mind that you are a very important person. You have the right to live a fulfilling, joyful, and happy life - just as you are.

You are amazing. Enjoy being you. Be proud.

Best regards,

Jóna Björg Sætran, your teacher M.Ed. and your PCC coach
